Our house

| daily misc | | Comments (1)

We bought our first house 2 years ago yesterday.

We really hadn't done much to the place until this year. This year, we painted and we'll be getting new carpet and flooring the week of August 5th. The guest bathroom floor is almost finished. The master bathroom floor is up next.

Next year, we'll be doing outside work. We don't really like the landscaping (front, back) that the previous owners had done so we haven't done anything at all this year. Last year, I watered the plants and grass, but with the drought I haven't done anything outside. Also on this summer's agenda, we're going to redo the deck and get rid of the paint.

We really haven't met many of our neighbors. We had a couple of kids show up for both Halloweens. We had some school kids show up and sell us stuff to raise money for something school related. BUT! Today, two neighbors came to the house. The first one came over and offered to mow the grass near the house and bring the weeds back to a manageable state. The second one came over about an hour later asking if I'd sign the petition to have paving our roads added to the November election ballot. (I agreed to both.)

And Brad missed meeting them both! Ah well, the woman with the petition is coming back on Tuesday to get Brad's signature.
