Caught in the act
This weekend, when making my rounds, there were 3 sites that said "hey you, stop visiting and never commenting!" (not those exact words, mind you).
First was Christine of Big Pink Cookie. I left her a hello.
Next was... I forget.
I left a comment there too.
Last was GeekGrrl of My So Called Life. Left her a comment too.
Anyway, I do actually read most of the links on my blogroll list every day. I use a handy RSS aggregator which helps make this task much easier, but I like to actually look at people's sites, so I usually use NewzCrawler to get me to your site and then click around from there.
I guess I was just amused by being "caught" and wanted to say hi to all of those people I read even though I don't always comment.

I do that all the time, too....but, I'm trying to STOP that nasty habit...hence, my comment to you!
I don't think it's a nasty habit. If you don't have anything to say, why slap up a "me too" post?
I think the bigger thing is that people like to know they're being read. Sometimes the comments are the only way you know if anyone's listening.
The beauty of hit logs is that you get a good idea of just how many people are reading. In my case, far more than I expected. That's plenty of ego strokes for me, frankly. Bullying someone into commenting strikes me as a bit crass. Some people are shy and some just don't have a burning desire to express their opinion on your blog, particularly if they have one of their own. And that's cool with me.
i love it when you find someone who's linked or blogrolled you, and you have nada friggin clue how they found your site...
me, i never have a problem commenting. i guess i'm the type of person who likes to throw his opinion out there, regardless of what people may think. that's not always a good thing.
what about a tag-board... would you sign something like that?
hey there Mikey... I'm getting better about the comments thing.
Chances are I found you via Robyn at Ain't too proud... though I know a bunch of the people I read link to you, so that's a possibility too. Tag boards? Maybe!
hehe
I actually love comments. Love love love them. And I have sitemeter, so I know that approximately 42 people a day visit my blog (Yes, a whopping 42... lol), but only one or two comment. I appreciated your comment. And I guess I should take some of my own medicine, eh?

Hello!
