Different times

| daily misc | | Comments (6)

Last October, my mom sent me my grandparents' silverware. My grandparents' house was always the place to go for the holidays.

Anyway, we cleaned out the pantry 2 weekends ago and I found all of the silver. I decided that since we don't have a lot of visitors, it was time for the silver to be used every day instead of waiting for a special occasion. We have place settings (not the plates, mind you) for at least 20!

I like using it every day because of the connection to my grandparents. Brad likes it because it means we run out of spoons less often. wink

Stop over. We'll set a place for you!

ha ha, typical man thinking! But seriously, it's why I have a service for 12.

In fairness, I brought service for 16 to the marriage. She hates it, but at least I had it. :-D

He neglects to mention that the reason he had service for 16 is that the first time I went out to Michigan to meet him, he invited ALL of his friends over for dinner (mostly cooked by Mike the Amazing). The first day there. So we needed all that silverware!

The second trip out I got to meet all of his Michigan based family.

Both meetings went well. smile

That's so nice! I have my Grandmother's china and I don't uyse it every day, but I love having it.

My wife and I are on our way. What's for dinner? Do we need to bring any thing? Wine? Are you sure?
