Holsberg Wins Driving Championship!

After 15 years of chasing traffic cones around parking lots in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Pete Holsberg has finally come up a winner in his 1993 Saturn SC2!
The Philadelphia Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) recently announced that Pete has won the "SOLO II" championship in the "E Stock" class of cars, beating a 20-year-old Temple University engineering student by 2 points over 13 events.

SOLO II is a form of driving competition that emphasizes precision handling and braking, rather than speed. Generally, each course is considerably less than a mile long and is run in 2nd gear, limiting drivers to speeds of less than 55-60 MPH. Almost any kind of car can run in a SOLO II and will be classified so that it competes against cars having similar performance. The SCCA has 9 classes for purely stock cars.
Holsberg's first place trophy and jacket will be awarded at the Philly SCCA Annual Banquet at the Doylestown Country Club on February 17, 2002.
