Too Much Screen Time Can Make Computer Users Sick

According to the article, "Mental symptoms such as lethargy, anxiety and "reluctance to go to work," as well as sleep-related problems including insomnia and fatigue, were most common among workers who spent more than 5 hours a day glued to their computer screen."

I spend way more than 5 hours a day in front of a monitor. But I have for many years. I think my sleeping issues are from not being good at letting stressors go.

Warning: Yahoo is known for having pop-up ads.

So, how do you sleep at night?

I guess I should turn off the computer a little more. I took Sonata go to bed at 9:30, and didn't fall asleep until one!

i had the "don't wanna go to work" ailment wayyyy before the advent of computers...

well, all i can say is they better come up with a cure that doesn't involve getting away from the computer. surely there must be a pill or something.

hehe... a pill. Excellent idea.

I sleep like a rock usually, but I'm typically up at 4 a.m. I spend way more than 5 hours at the computer too.

All in favor of a pill to stop these symptoms, say Aye... wink

GeekGrrl: Did you change time zones with your move?

Melissa said:

Uh huh. I went from MST with no DST to EST. It changed by 2 hours. Luckily it had just switched off DST or it would've been 3.

Now I have to get used to this whole change-your-clocks thing next year. I've never done it before. hehe.

The time change thing is weird but you get used to it. I had a tough time adjusting when I moved west 2 time zones. Everything was on tv at the wrong times. smile
