A tree or two

| photos | | Comments (3)

Christmas Since Brad and I have been together, we haven't done much about decorating, etc for the holidays. We talked this year and I decided to decorate a little.

Growing up, we always celebrated both holidays. My dad and stepmom had a Christmas tree (a live tree for a while and then a fake tree) and they would also light the Menorah when we kids were home for the holidays. My mom and stepfather had a tree (I think theirs was real for a while too, but don't know about recent years).

I really didn't know exactly what I wanted to do about decorating, but I knew I wanted to do something. Last year Bridget painted a tree on my ring finger nail so I'd have one.

Anyway I was in Target and saw these 2' trees and picked up two and a bunch of small ornaments.

Lovely! I like the look of two small trees instead of one larger one.
No tree for us this year. Chazzie is still a little too young to be trusted around ornaments. She'd probably think we put up cat toys just for her.

Our cats would just destroy a tree. Well, two of them definitely would. I'm not sure about the other two. This way we can move the trees if it becomes an issue. smile

My mom used to make these stuffed snowmen/angels that she'd hang at the bottom of her tree for the cats to play with and hang the other ornaments higher. It worked pretty well actually.

Those Island of Misfits ornaments are so cool! I looked at our Target for some and couldn't find them anywhere. They must be selling like... things that sell really fast. wink

That's neat (what your mom used to do) and a great idea too. Lucky for us, we have a little 3 foot tree, and it is on top of the entertainment center.

No crunchy Rudolph snacks for our kitties! smile
