Looking for suggestions
Ok, so more and more I'm noticing lots of Lisas reading and commenting the same places I do. On some sites, I just use "Lisa", on others "anotherLisa". On Solonor's, I use "Lisa, Gal of Unix" (it relates to a post he did a while ago). My nick on IRC was "Jasra" and that's what I use (a variant) on Yahoo Messenger & AIM. I have a Hebrew name too that I don't use at all but think it's pretty.
Anyway, the point is... how should I sign my name so I know it's me?
And so you know it's me?
PS: This isn't a complaint about other people being named Lisa.
It's like TokenDave vs lasciviousDave.

DUDE. okay, so i'm reading your post going to myself "damn i know *just* how she feels!" and then, blammo! you KNEW i knew how you feel.
k, that's fucked.
i'm leaving now.
Yours was the clearest example I remembered.
oh, like there are no other "jen" or "jennys" or "jennifers" huh? you dave and lisa's think you got all the problems, huh?
why you think j-mo has stuck so much??
and lisa....i think you should just be UnixGal.
Try being a Christine! There's *BigPinkCookie* Christine, *InfinitePink* Christine, *ColorMePink* Christine, and a host of others. So many, that I started a *Christine* webring! LOL!
I sign myself differently at different blogs. Sometimes I am just *Christine*, as I am here. I am also known as *Christine M.*, *Christine with an M.*, and *felineChristine*.
Another thing is that, as you know, my husband is named Mike. I know of at least two other blogging Christines who are dating/married to guys named Mike.
Yeah. There are a lot of Mikes out there, too. If he ever decides to start blogging, this could be a problem. LOL!
I appreciate the feedback from everyone.
I think I'll try out "Lisa, Gal of Unix" for a bit and see how I like it. "anotherLisa" just bugs me.
I always know it's you 'cause well you're the only Lisa that comes to my blog I think. That's why I like the name Dania. I don't have to worry about people getting mixed up. When someone says "dania" it's like "ohhhhhh her"...hehehe
I could go by Shannon, but, there already is one, and she already has a husband named Dave, and she sings, AND lives in VA to boot...so uhhh...way too freaky. I'll stick with Dania lol
That's definitely freaky about another person with such close similarities!
A little late on my commenting, but as long as you leave me comments, you can sign with any name you want :giggle:
But I do like Lisa, Gal of Unix - very cute
Speaking of late commenting... *cough*
It's funny that you'd mention this, because two days ago, I had a comment on my blog go screwy, due to the domain move. So I asked A to fix it. Then I noticed that someone else had got your comment (it was someone elses e-mail and site). I started freakin' out thinkin' something had went wiggy with my move. I asked A to fix yours too, as I was worrying about what might be wrong.
Come to find out, it was another chick named Lisa. (You actually commented right after her as, "Lisa, Gal of Unix".) hehe
So, I agree with Kristine, "Lisa, Gal of Unix" is cute and funky. I think you should use it.
(... at least until your cats can get someone in The Family to take care of the Other Lisas. ::giggle:: )
Thanks, ladies!
Hey, sorry I'm chiming in late here. Having been a Lisa all my life, this isn't the first time I've had to deal with this problem. In grade school I was always Lisa with my last initial. Still am in some places. I always use the link in the status bar to find out which Lisa or which Christine or which Julie or whoever is the commenting one. If just signing Lisa isn't working, and you aren't all just freaked out by my leaving comments at all, I can use Hey Lisa rather than Just Lisa (since it's already taken too) or Lisa. Oh, and Dania, I'm the other Lisa that comes to your site. I recently moved to a better host so my link may not be all that familiar yet.
Oh, and should I be watching out for unknown stray cats? ;-)
Hey Lisa is cool
Yes, we have 2 that might follow you home.
Yes, i think that Lisa, Gal of Unix is most certainly a ruling name.
Lookie! Another Christine!
I think of you as Lisa - to me you are the one and only. Well, not the only - but the one. I like UnixGal too - I know immediately who that is when I see it.
