Fickle weather
For the past week, it's been in the mid to high 60s and low 70s. Starting tonight, we're expecting snow. And by Wednesday some time, we should have 6-12 inches of the stuff.
But then again, the weather people have a hard time accurately predicting weather out here (because of the mountains), so maybe it won't be that bad.
Update: I'm hearing 1 to 3 feet now.
From weather.com:
"West:
As a major storm system begins to churn and bubble over the southern High Plains today, residents of Denver--and indeed all of the High Plains (and adjacent Rocky Mountain foothills) from the Palmer Divide north--are bracing for a major league snowstorm. If Old Man Winter has his way, it will be Denver not New York City that holds claim to the Great White Way tomorrow. Although the snow may not get going in earnest in Denver until later tonight, the city probably will end up with a foot or two by the time all is said (much) and done (more) sometime Wednesday. Even deeper snow--maybe two to four feet--could bury the foothills of the Front Range west of Denver. Already, winter storm warnings and watches blanket the Plains and Rockies from eastern Montana and western North Dakota south to northern New Mexico. Elsewhere in the West tomorrow, showers and mountain snows will dot most of the territory from southern Idaho, Utah and eastern Arizona to the Rockies while a new batch of Pacific rain pushes into western Washington."

Hmmm ... I wonder how much we'll get up here in the NE corner. Sounds like we'll just be on the fringe, darn it anyway. We need moisture SO bad! You, on the other hand, better batton down the hatches! (I bet the grocery stores are busy today
)
We're supposed to get rain later this week, but no snow, they say. And we KNOW they're always right.
snow is evil. I liked it in principle whilst living in California, but now that there is actual shovelling involved, I'm not as psyched.
And I've frozen/snapped two plastic shovels already.
Time to move on to steel or aluminum, I guess.
Wow. We have had weather like that here in Indiana. One week it's super warm and nice, and then the next week, a foot of snow. I can feel your pain.
holy shmoly! 1 to 3 FEET?!
We are just Rain/Clouds/50°ish for the rest of the spring
*adds weather to the list of reasons not to visit Colorado anytime soon*
Wow, that's a lot of snow!
It's in the 70's here today and they said it was supposed to go back to the 40's tomorrow. Crazy weather, lol.
This is first major storm of the winter. It's been a pretty mild winter so far. Don't write Colorado off your list of places to visit just yet. Just don't come out this week.
3 feet? Holy cow! Ugh I hope we dont get any of it. I was so enjoying the spring weather we had here this weekend.
Brad said the store was busy when he stopped in to pick up some stuff for us. This is either going to be a HUGE storm, or a whole lotta nothing. Personally, I've already forwarded my work phone to home, so I'm ready for the snow.
hey... sounds like New England weather - welcome to my world.
p.s. love these smilies!
woooh! fun! i wish we got some snow like that!
Wait a minute...weren't you just telling me I should live out there??? NAH...I'll pass!!
Dom wants to move to Phoenix. Now, I think that'd be BEAUTIFUL in January...but I think I'd melt in July.
Just wanted to wish you a Happy St. Patty's Day!
I'm watching the snow fall/blow as I write! We went to the store last night, it was packed and in the milk section where there is at least 4 doors of milk, it was all empty! (wishing I had the camera at that moment) bread was gone, and hamburger meat was gone. Lucky for us, we are chip junkies! LOL
