It's finally stopped!
The snow has stopped. It's already 40 here, so the snow should start melting and evaporating. It's supposed to be warm for the rest of the week and through the weekend.
The airport is going to open up one runway at 10am. They hope to open a second by noon.
I'm still not expecting any mail though. "The U.S. Postal Service resumed limited service in Denver Thursday after having to shut down operations Wednesday. Post offices will be open and mail will be delivered to homes that are accessible." (9news.com)
The problem is... our county doesn't plow our road. The "X" is where our house is and the yellow line is the unplowed part. I can't even tell if our "main" road has been plowed yet. We're 1.7 miles back in the development. [Image is in the extended part of the post.]
That and the fact that there's probably 4 feet of snow in front of the garage. And the walk. The satellite dish stayed clear all day yesterday and all night, but it's covered up again. We'll wait for that to melt off this time.

I thought the mail was supposed to be delivered in hail, sleet, snow, or rain
Theresa has a point there. I'm going to have to speak with my dad (USPS employee) about this.
Now you shall see the wonderful thing known as the Chinook wind come and save you from the snow. Here's hoping you don't end up with a basement pool like mine!
don't mess with the mailman. he's unstable enough as it is
That is, however, an excellent point. We got our mail when we had the 24" in Feb.
EEK! I hope it melts soon! Wow, you have a lot of snow to melt in order to get down your road it looks like to me! LOL
Surprisingly for once: Cheyenne didn't get it as bad as Denver. But ya know what? Despite the fact that most of the major roads aren't even WET anymore because they were plowed so quickly there is STILL nothing open in this town! GGrrrrr
