"new" computer!
I now have the small blue shoebox on my desk. Ok, that's not really what it's called. It's the ShuttleX that used to be Brad's.
Specs:
Pentium 4 1.8GHz, 512MB of DDR-2700 RAM, 80GB 7200 RPM drive, 32x CD-RW (and DVD player), USB 2.0, IEEE1394, ATI Radeon 9000, dual monitors, 5.1 sound

Figures...Your handmedown is better than my main computer
And where is the picture of this overglorified shoebox, eh?
BOK
BOK
my black box beats yours by a little, plus it contains parts lovingly touched by the mighty Chris Pirillo!
i am so jealous!
Now the question is, what new technology did Brad get, to give you his blue box?
*sighs* My computer is inferior in every way, and I spent way too much money on it
Here, I posted about the process that led to my "new" PC (which was mostly recycled parts... we just don't buy whole PCs):

Short answer: P4 2.53GHz, 1GB of DDR-2700, 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB cache drive, 16x CD-RW, DVD-ROM, Audigy 2 Platinum (6.1 audio), GeForce 4 Ti4400.
Not a drastically different computer, actually, just a better video card (I'm the game hound), higher speed CPU and slightly faster hard drive. She only has one 5 1/4" bay so she got the fastest CD-RW (it also reads DVD-ROMs). I got the better sound system.
But, hey, she didn't pay anything for her PC, so I think she got a pretty good deal.
As soon as she's convinced she has all the pertinent data off her old PC, we'll pave that and put Linux on it and make it a headless Unix box for her development happiness.
Awesome!! Lucky you!
That's so cool, I haven't ever seen a shorty computer like that! Sounds like you both made out good in the deal
And yay for duel monitors - someday, I want to have that option, too; I think it would be way awesome!
That is undeniably cool... though I could never use a case that small -- I like a big tower case that I can get my fat hands in when I want to add a new drive or something.
You also have the cleanest desk of any Unix person I've ever seen... wow.
Post some screenshots when you get the dual-monitor thing going. You didn't mention which OS you were using, I'd be curious to know that.
Oooo, that's awesome!
I like the dual monitors too, they look pretty fun to play with. Enjoy your weekend!
