Puppy update
Brad and I drove out to meet the puppy. He's a Maltese, is about 2 weeks old and no bigger than my hand. He was about 7" long and weighed around 10 oz. His eyes aren't open yet.
We also got to meet his parents. His mom's name is Hanson's The Queen of Elegance. She let me hold her, but was nervous because Brad was holding her boy. She didn't fuss at all and was incredibly well-behaved. She licked my arm and my nose, and I didn't have any kind of allergic reaction.
We also met Hanson's "Mr" Imperial Ice Bits. I didn't hold him, but I got to pet him. While mom had a shiny, straight coat, dad had a more cotton-y coat. He also was very well mannered and fun to visit with.
So now we're trying to come up with names for the little guy. So far on the list (not in any particular order): Max, Bruno, Gus, Peri (short for Peregrine) and Mop. I'm hoping to have one more visit with him before we pick him up so we can have a better idea of his personality and make picking a name easier.
Do you have any suggestions?

awwww so cute!
I've just lapsed into severe baby talk. So adorable.
My Gma has owned two Maltese dogs since I was in junior high. They are so adorible! And no shedding... So cute!
oh, wow, beautiful pictures! And I like your name choices! Very cute options!
I suggest you send the puppy to ME! Heehee! He's so adorable. It is a he, right? I like the name Peri and Max. Too bad it's not a girl. LuLu would be cute!
They are so adorable when they are so tiny. The good thing about Maltese dogs is that they always stay tiny. Our little Cupid is a Maltese/Havanese mix. My parents and my bro each have Maltese. We just love 'em!
Peri is cute. I heard somewhere it's easier for dogs to learn their names if they end in that eeee sound...I don't know if it's true. Our dogs' name is Cupid, but I do call him QP.
I had the name "Max" all picked out for Rufus before we ever found the kitty we wanted, but as soon as we brought him home, we had to nix the name b/c he didn't have enough attitude to pull it off! I absolutely LOVE it!
Oh Lisa, I'm SO jealous!! How utterly adorable!! Where are you getting him? You're in Colorado, right? Oh man, my heart is so melting right now!
I can't imagine what it'd be like to hold one that small. Fred was already two pounds when we brought her home and I thought she was the tiniest thing I'd ever hold. Awwww.
I personally like the name "Mop."
It's different, for one, and I had one gf who named her cat "Mattress" and another who used her cat as a mop after it made a mess playing in its water bowl. Just sort of sopped up the water with the bellyfur. The kitty was not pleased by this turn of events. Mattress is unavailable for comment, but I'm sure she'd vote for "Mop," too.
So cute.. Awww I want one *S*
As for names oh I dont know I'm not good with names, I called my last dog Jenny after my Mum LOL.. I don't know if she took it as a compliment or what, but it was meant in the nicest possible way
I like Max and Gus. Gus especially I think. It doesn't really matter what you name him, because he's just so cute...
Itty bitty puppy wuppy.
Yet another reason to come visit, eh?
Aha! Someone figured out our plot.
Puppy = blogger visitors.
Good sleuthing, GeekGrrl!
I got so caught up in the puppy cuteness that I forgot the whole naming issue.
You have some great names in the running. I especially like Gus and Bruno.
I can't believe how cute he is!
I like "Max". Too cute.
I still think that a hot-tub would be a good blogger attraction, too.
Love the 'fro smiley! So 70s...
so, so so cute! jr. will be jealous!
i have a hard time naming a dog until i see their personality, but...i like a lot of the suggestions so far!
and i love the new skin!
Poopsie has a good sense of humor.
Brad: Go here to learn your alternative name.
I like Peri. Seems to fit well. What a cutie pie! I am in love!
oh my gosh, is that puppy ever cute!
i have severe allergies, too, and we ended up with a beagle and a basset hound. i was allergic to them both when we first got them, but i built up an "immunity" in a very short time.
with our basset hound, we were able to see her twice before we finally picked her up. we knew before we ever saw her that we wanted a basset hound named "daisy," so when we picked her out of her litter, we asked the breeders to please refer to her as daisy as much as possible so she would get to know her name. the complied with our request, and i think it really helped; she seemed to know her name from day 1.
and i gotta say, i love your smilies!
Thanks for all of the fun comments! I'm still waiting to see what other names Brad comes up with.
When I was a kid, we had a Basset Hound for a little while. Then he went to "live on a farm."
yo watsup
hehehe, da lil pup is sooo cute!!! I wish I could hold him!!! Peri suits him. Anyway tell him I said hi, bubye
I was wondering if anyone has a maltese/havanese mix or any havanese mix. We are trying to breed our havanese and we are looking for a good mix breed match. The havanese is a registered pure breed.
