RSS newsreaders

I was surfing around my BlogStreet and came across "a klog apart".

Phil has a great explanation of what RSS feeds mean to those of us who use 'em: "RSS newsreaders are TiVo for bloggers."

I don't expect to see blogs appear in mainstream devices yet, just look at how long it took for MP3 to appear in consumer devices. It doesn't look cost effective either yet to merge blog technology with text messaging, although there are a few resources I wouldn't mind getting SMS notifications for.

Capz, I appreciate your skepticism. I've already seen some integration of mobile devices and blogs. The Danger Hiptop is paired with a blog email address, so you can email snapshots and text to your blog. SMS to email is old hat, and email to blog is increasingly common.

Reading blogs on your mobile is a separate and harder challenge. Most blogs aren't organized or formatted well for the phone user. This can change quickly, though.

Will it take time for everyone to have access to the tools? A few years, imho.
