Reviews

I had my quarterly review today. The results weren't unexpected. I've been given new responsibilities and am trying to remember to fit them into my day along with my regular stuff. I'm not being very effective at it. Yet. Anyway, I'm much harder on myself than they could ever be. At least it's over for another 3 months.

I was talking to my boss the other day about our annual appraisals. He has to do them and get them approved. He hates doing them because he has to cut people down, and if he doesn't cut them down enough, he has to try again.

Despite all that, the appraisal he gave me was still better than the one I gave myself.

Reviews suck, plain and simple. I'm glad yours is over for a while now.

Wow quarterly! We only get yearly reviews...although for some quarterly wouldn't be a bad idea. Glad it's over.

Hurray for a good review! Congratulations smile

We sound a lot alike about reviews. I dreaded mine, but they always turned out ok, getting more responsiblities, and getting raises are fun. And yes, we are our own worst critic. Does the word overachiever apply in the workplace with you like it did me? LOL

Actually, it wasn't a good review. It just wasn't unexpected because of my change in responsibilities.
