Crate training is definately a good idea. It gives them a place of their own that is safe. My cousin has a dog and they put her in the crate during they day, or whenever they leave. They are gone for many hours for their job at the airport, and Raleigh is just fine.
As for the biting... Peri is a puppy... Puppies bite. Alot. It's just like a baby teething. My mother-in-law's lab did that for the first several months, until his permenant teeth were all grown in. What they did, when Riley bit, they told him "no" in a very stern voice and then gave him something he could chew on, like a toy (or in Riley's case, a cardboard cereal box or a paper plate LOL).
I wish I could give you first-hand experience, but I got my dog when she was three, and she was already trained and through the puppy years.
I think you need to add an About Peri page. No, really. I was trying to remember what kind of puppy he is (and was glad to be able to search for it). you could make it his own little page with pictures and updates, etc ...
Tell me, does his hair require a lot of brushing on your part? How is the maintainence of him?

I can't help it. I know Peri should be in trouble for biting you, but I just want to hug and kiss him.
Want me to
it better for you?

I've had a dog bite my lip before. It's one of those owies that immediately brings tears to your eyes.
I hope you guys figure out what to do. Let me know if I can help at all. Not sure what I can do, but figured I should offer.
It will get easier! Do they have dog day care out there? Maybe if you could get Peri out of the house a few days a week it would help.
