Girly girl?

| daily misc | | Comments (9)

I changed the headlights in my truck this weekend (ok, I did one last night and one tonight). They're not the nice "all in one piece" kind but the "low beam and high beam" replacement type.

Me with my nail appointment every 2 weeks.

Go me! grin

I be so proud of you! Girls rock. Umm... didja use any power tools? Huh huh??? Maybe just a screwdriver, or some pliers? Were there nuts and bolts?

Reminds me of a time when one of my girl friends called me in a panic because her car wouldnt start and she was in Boston. After listening to it through her cell phone I knew she busted the timing belt. So she got towed home and on close inspection the top half of the motor was junk. So being the trooper that she is, I gave her all the parts she needed to order and places to call and she got all the parts to her house. Then I spent every night for the next two weeks rebuilding the motor for her but she was out in the garage with me every step of the way learning what everything was. Needless to say she was happy when it started again and she knew what all the parts inside a motor did too. Christmas was a couple of days later so I got her the "Idiots guide auto maintenance". She got a kick out of that.

Jay: That's cool. I used to work on my VW Rabbit with my boyfriend. We replaced the water pump and some other things on it together. I always had fun messing around with the car, but I haven't done anything like that in a while.

I've changed my headlights before, but that's about as far as my maintenance skills go. I have this sneaking feeling I SHOULD learn to do more, but somehow I never get around to it.
