Sleep deprivation brought to you by the letter "P"
For the last 2 nights, Peri's been waking up a lot during the night. Usually he's good about sleeping from around 11pm until 5:30am.
Last night, Peri decided that he needed to go out around 12:30. And 1. And I think 1:15. So I hung out with him in the office for a little bit before finally deciding it was safe to go back to bed. But around 5, he started up again.
The night before, we got up at 2:30, 4:30 and then he was ready for us to get up at 6, but I had the alarm set for 6:45 for a doctor's appointment.
I'm really glad that it's Friday and not mid-week. ![]()

I had that problem with Lexi when I first got her - where she seemed to feel like she needed to "go" A LOT - turned out she had a urinary tract infection. Also, I didn't know this until a week or two ago, but apparently male dogs, especially purebreds, tend to get UTI's more often, because of the length of their urinary tract.
Hopefully it's not - but if he keeps doing that all weekend, you might want the vet to do a urinalysis.
(I think that's the first time I've ever talked about pee on a blog comment)
It really is just a night-time thing. I'm home w/ him all day during the week, and he usually only feels the need to go out once -- if at all -- during the day. He just has a very high level of attachment to Lisa, and when he gets any inkling of a hint that she might be awake, he goes nuts wanting her to come see him.
If it wasn't such a sleep deprivation thing, it might actually be cute.
Hmmm...well then...you could do what I do - which is put the puppy's crate on the other side of the house. Lexi still starts howling the minute she hears my alarm go off in the morning, but at least she doesn't yip every time I roll over.
