A case of bad timing
My mom had knee surgery on Monday (at a hospital near Atlantic City). She had a bad reaction to the anesthesia and couldn't keep down anything or sleep since the surgery. So they've finally given her anti-nausea medicine. Originally she was supposed to stay in the hospital for 3 days, but they're going to keep her a little longer to make sure she recovers ok. Then she goes to the rehab center for about a week. Then she goes home and will have to pretty much stay off her feet for six weeks.
In the meantime, my stepfather had chest pains last night (not a heart attack) and went to the hospital (the one closer to their house). He's now going to get a pacemaker - probably tomorrow. He's in the hospital in Cape May Court House. Also, he's 78 years old.
My brother is keeping me updated on how both of them are and may be driving down to spend time the hospitalized set of parents. I'm trying to keep my options open in case I need to rearrange my trip.
Please keep them in your thoughts. (My dad also because he's having some health issues right now as well. That makes 3 out of 4 parents.)

Oh no! Talk about stressful preoccupation. I'm sorry to hear both your parents are ailing. I'll be thinking lots of good thoughts for you and for them. *hugs*
Things come in 3s, they say. Hopefully everyone's health troubles will be over soon.
