Late night driving
It's no secret that I'm not overly fond of driving late at night. What with all of the wildlife and all. On my drive home (from the work party which was a decent time), I saw 6 police cars with people pulled over. One unfortunate soul had 2 cop cars all to himself. I also saw 4 antelope wander across the street, but luckily it was in my development and I was only going ~20 anyway (and had just stopped for the stop sign). I slooooooowly rolled past them, they'd stopped to watch me as closely as I was watching them. They're such beautiful creatures, but I'm glad that my encounter with them wasn't any closer than it already was.

After hitting 2 deer, and 2 dogs with my car, I completely agree with you. I am always hunting my visual range for signs of a car-damaging animal. My default night-driving position is cruise control on, foot hovering over the brake (which car manufacturers make incredibly uncomfortable).
I don't like driving at night either. although it has nothing to do with wildlife (considering I live in a well populated city).... it has more to do with the fact that I'm scared to death of driving and the lines in the road are never obvious enough and the lights are always too bright.
...and that's WITH my glasses. eep.
