Why is it that I get better sleep when I nap on the couch in the middle of the day (on the weekend) than when I go to bed at night?

i am the SAME exact way! i sleep so much better when i take naps, falling asleep MUCH quicker. but at night i can lay there for an hour (or more!) trying to fall asleep. very strange...
Perhaps time for a sleep number bed?
I still don't know how you do it, though. If I take a nap during the day, when I wake up later on, I usually feel worse than when I started.
Just not a waking up person, I guess.
I'm fine if I nap. Unless I have one of those naps that you wake up from and feel like you'd slept for days. So the waking up part isn't what gets me.
I'm the exact same way. I toss in turn in my bed but on my couch, I'm out.
When I take a a Tylenol PM though, all is well.
Maybe you should sleep on the couch tonight ;-)
I know what you mean. Sometimes I think I am having an intimate relationship with my couch.
