Bunch of books
I've read a bunch of books since the last time I mentioned a book on my blog...
- Lawrence Schiller's "Cape May Court House"
- Nicholas Sparks' "The Guardian"
- James Patterson's "Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas"
- Anne Rice's "Blood Canticle"
- Carl Hiaasen's "Double Whammy"
- Carolyn Hart's "Engaged to Die"
- Jill A Davis' "Girls' Poker Night"
Nothing really exciting on the list. I needed some lighter reading, so that's what I've been going through lately.
Cape May Court House is a true story. I got it because it took place near where I grew up. I don't usually read true life dramas.
The Guardian was a bittersweet tale of love and loss. So was Suzanne's Diary.
Blood Canticle was another book with the Mayfair witches and Lestat.
Double Whammy was another funky Carl Hiaasen book. I'd started this one once before and set it aside. I picked it up again and found it much more interesting this time through.
Engaged to Die is a mystery in a series about a couple who live on this small island and get involved with everyone and everything.
Girls' Poker Night is the story of a woman in NYC. The book cover says "Acidly funny... Bridget Jones meets Sex and the City." I could see that. It also says "It's one of those rare books that you read and think, I know that woman. She's me." That I didn't see as much. I recognize some of her defense mechanisms, but the main character seemed to be an overexaggeration in some sense.

Have you read "The Notebook" yet? I cried so much!!!
You read an awful lot of sad books.
I think I'll check out that Carolyn Hart series. It sounds interesting. Thanks for the tip.
Feisty: Yup, read that one too. Last year apparently.
M: Yeah, I noticed that as well. I'm reading a silly, racy book now. That'll make up for all of the sad books. And you'll love the Carolyn Hart books. She has 2 (or more?) series... the one I read is from the Death on Demand series (with Annie and Max Darling).
