Knowledge, a quote.

| quotes | | Comments (1)

"Knowledge is of two kinds. We know a subject ourselves, or we know where we can find information on it."
— Samuel Johnson

This has always been my strong suit. I know how to find information when it's a subject I don't know. When I mentor people at work, I stress to them that there's a lot to learn, but if they can learn how to research or who has the right books or keep a cheat sheet of subject matter experts, they'll come out way ahead in the long run.

Yes, exactly! People often say they have to come to me because I 'know it all', but they never listen when I say, 'really, I just know who to ask & how to get around google'.
