How do you use MT? survey
Mena asks for feedback (via trackback) on how you use Movable Type. If you use MT, please read Mena's post and then post your info.
Here's the current breakdown of Movable Type sites I run/manage:
This site - 1 blog, 2 authors (but I'm the only one who posts here - the other author is a "come see how I've set up all of my templates" ID). This is my personal weblog. Even though it fits in the free category, I'd send money off to 6A in support of them and their product.
The techieswithcats.com sites - 8 blogs, 10 authors plus "blogadmin". These sites are our photos, blogs for a few friends and one family member, Brad's blog, and a games blog that Brad started. Since this is all run for friends (except for Brad's blog), I would be less happy to pay more than $69. Though I could ask for the people who host with us to chip in and see how they responded.
The last MT install that I admin is at Homeport. It consists of 5 blogs with 5 distinct authors, but some have permissions at more than one blog. Four of the sites are personal blogs and one is a business site (that uses MT as a CMS). This site is also run as a hobby (except for the business site). Because the business is a start up and not cash-heavy, I suspect that they'd have trouble coming up with (or justifying) spending $200 for a license (at this time).
We have donated enough for 2 keys (I forget if we ended up sending in money to get a third) and I have no problems paying for software that I use and enjoy. I do it all the time with shareware. Just ask Jason from blogrolling or the guys from Zempt or the guy from WinZip, etc etc etc.
