MT and pricing

The folks at Six Apart (the creators of Movable Type) have reworked their licensing plans.

I have to say when I first read the licensing info, I was pretty upset. I really do like MT a lot. It has wonderful features and let's me play with SQL and PHP as much or as little as I want to. For me, it's a very nice mix.

Apparently at some point, Six Apart did a survey of MT users. I must have missed it. I say this because I manage 3 installations of MT. This one (1 blog, 2 authors but only I post). The techieswithcats.com sites (8 blogs, 10 authors plus "blogadmin"). And Homeport (5 blogs, 5 distinct authors, but some have permissions at more than one blog).

Anyway, the new limits:
* Personal Edition: 5 authors, 5 weblogs
Add on:
* 1 new weblog and 1 new author for $10

That being the case, I'll stick around and see what happens when the dust settles.
