Success at last!
I hate the ear bud type headphones. So since I bought my iPod, I've been looking for headphones that I can comfortably wear (for long periods of time).
I found some! Ok, to be honest, Brad found 'em. They are Sony Studio Monitor Headphones MDR-V300 (he got them from Best Buy). He brought them over last night and let me try them out. I looooove them!
Finally, happy ears and good music. Life is muchly improved.

Studio headphones make my earlobes hurt if I wear them for long periods. The fontopia earbuds are actually surprisingly comfortable. Having large ears is (one of) my curses. Damn genetics!
Those look pretty cool too. I'm doing well with these so far (not that I've been able to listen to more than 2 songs without interruption today). I'll keep those in mind in case I need to find another pair.

I love them!!! They are super comfortable, I can wear them (and have) for hours at a stretch, and they fit well in my bag.
I needed a pair of headphones that I could use while driving my wheelchair through the streets of Amsterdam. This was almost three years ago, so the choices were few... I had to invest in a pair of Bang&Olufsen's then new model but I still have them today... (They used them as the earpiece phones in Minority Report, they just cut the cord off) I've been seeing these on people here for awhile and now I know what they are! They must sound great and they're SO much cheaper...
Ooh, I should get some of those. I have these and after awhile, those hurt behind the ear.
