Godaddy hosting
Do any of you host with Godaddy? We're having trouble installing MT and they're not helpful at all.
I convinced her to move to Bloghosts and all is well now.
For the record: I love them as a domain registrar.

I've actually heard the same from a lot of other people running MT on GoDaddy and a growing number of hosting sites. I had a good deal of problems setting up a friend's MT on GD, so I recommended DreamHost to them. It turned out being a little cheaper and the install wasn't nearly as painful, but it was still a hassle.
i use them for domains as they are cheap, but you do have to put up with an awful lot of marketing/spam emails. (and they don't do .co.uk domains :-(
No experience on hosting i'm afraid though. Whats the specific problem?
We're getting this error:
Bad ObjectDriver config: Connection error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
Which I haven't gotten before installing MT and I've installed it a bunch of times. I think we're going to move her site to a new host.
Good to know - I've been debating hosting with godaddy because they had php and mysql - but if you can't use popular blog software, it does make sense to shop around!
GoDaddy puts their databases on a different server than localhost, that's why you get that error. It'll be more like mysql17.secureserver.com. You can go to the databases page in my accounts to see what server your DBs are on.
