Wit's end
Grishka's reverted to his old peeing problems. I usually have pee to clean up from not-the-litterbox in the morning and sometimes when I get home from work.
Last night I had dinner at Gina's and ended up getting a burn on my finger (and now have a lovely blister). Anyway, I came home and walked into the kitchen (from the garage) and stepped on something. The light revealed that it was a cat toy that was right next to a pile of cat crap. Great. At least I missed it.
This morning I was getting ready to leave. I was still walking around barefoot. I was taking the stuff I'd scooped from the litter box and the paper towels from this morning's pee puddle to the garage trash and EEK! I stepped in cat pee. In the kitchen. (Which meant I had to change my jeans and scrub my feet.)
I'm going to make an appointment to see if Grishka's got a bladder infection or something else physically wrong. It's not the litter box. I scoop it every other day (it's in my bathroom so if it needs to be scooped sooner, I will see it and take care of it) and dump it out once a week. I could set up a second box somewhere. But I'm getting really tired of this. He's only 3.5 years old.

Could it be a delayed reaction to the move?
Geez, I hope not.
Pretty seriously delayed if so.
It could be stress, too, from the move.
If there's no infection, try a second litter box. It helped a LOT for my cat!
Last year, we had this problem with our cat Karma. She was peeing on the bathroom rug, so we removed the rug and then she started peeing in the bathtub. When Drew started complaining about this, I finally took Karma to the vet and we found out that she has a bladder condition- she'll always have it- and we now give her Hill's Prescription diet, which comes in both canned and dried forms.
Karma's been much better now that she's been on this diet, however when she gets stressed out- which fortunately isn't too often- she'll pee on the bathroom rug. We now accept this as a quirk of her's and work around it and are willing to do so, as long as she keeps her "accidents" limited to the same place and not all over the house.
When my father visited in July, Karma was not too pleased about having to share the guestroom bed with him, so she peed in his shoes a couple time. We now tell our guests not to leave their shoes out otherwise they'll face "The Wrath of the Karma."
Let me know how Grishka makes out!
Love, Bill
