Bits and pieces
- Installed the lovely, programmable thermostat in my apartment. Yay for controlled temperatures!
- Finished yet another book.
- Had Thai food for dinner (with a new book) and have leftovers for tomorrow.
- Am this close to deciding to cancel my home phone and just use my cell phone. The only time my home phone rings is for solicitors. (If you need my cell number, leave a comment and I'll mail it to you.)
- Felt sorry for myself for a little bit and then decided to do something else.
- Caught up on Arisia registrations.
- Gathered up books for a friend who is looking for books for the holidays.
- Watched L&O: CI and still feel "eh" about it.
- Worked on updating my movie database so I can start writing wrapper code for it.
- Am suffering from cat-tail on my mouse pad. And cat on the phone and scanner, but those aren't in use so not as critical.
- Updated Outlook with addresses of people who want $holiday cards.
- Played with the silly isLove generator and got this:
| affection is love | |||||
| brought to you by the isLove Generator | |||||

We haven't had a house phone for over a year. When we're home so our our phones, so why bother.
Mostly habit, I suppose. But at this point it seems like wasted money so it'll be gone soon.
I know a couple folks who have switched to full time cell phone usage. I say go for it. It has a couple wins - 1) it's mobile (if you move, you take your phone with you. If you change providers, you can transfer the phone number to the new provider). 2) No solicitors. 3) You get a lot more services on your cell phone than you do on your home phone (voice mail, for example).
And of course L&O rocks. CI is great just for Vincent D'Onofrio. But occasionally L&O can get screwed up by the broadcaster
I think I ended up getting a landline because our cell phones didn't work out at the house originally (by the time we moved, they worked out there). The other thing I like about my cell is that it has everyone's numbers in it and the phones have randomly saved numbers.
Vincent was good but seemed awfully mellow. I still haven't watched that episode of SVU.
Mmmm. Thai.
I read today that Chris Noth is going to reprise his old L&O character on CI and possibly replace Vincent permanently.
Now that would make me watch it!
