A shiny present for me

| daily misc | | Comments (8)

Look what I got for me. I figured I'd consolidate gadgets (someone at work is interested in buying my Dell Axim) and upgrade at the same time. Plus it's shiny. (I might have to get a different earpiece though because the default one is not comfortable.)

I have to put the phone numbers that I only had in my cell phone into Outlook (a good idea anyway) so I don't have everyone's numbers in there right now. But I'll do it before Saturday*.

* I fly to Boston for 11 days on Saturday. I have to move my passwords to the Treo before I go. I will be online while I'm out of town (email mostly), but if you want to get ahold of me you probably should get my phone #. Email or leave a comment if you want my number and I'll see if I want to share it with you. wink

I'm absolutely delighted with my Treo 600, minus some problems I'm having with mRing actually playing the ringtones I configure (and with actually stopping playback when they actually are played), but mRing's problems are not the phone's problems. This is definitely a worthy successor to my old Kyocera Smartphone.

Mind you, it helps that the company bought it and pays for my service. Bwahahaha...

Okay, that is beyond cool. I am so jealous!

Those phones rock, I have for work and they're incredibly useful. A tad wide but I can deal with that. Did you get the one with the camera or not? If you stick a memory card in there, they're pretty useful.

With the camera, of course!

Leaving the shadows of lurkerdom...

I agree that the Treos rock. I've had mine for a short time, and I can't think of how I got by without before. If you got a Treo 650, you can get a free memory card from Palm - if you haven't already.

Returning to the shadows of lurkerdom....

That is *really* cool looking!

Some day, I'm gonna get me a PDA too. The problem is that I only want the coolest options, that do everything, and so then the ones I look at are hugely expensive. grin So I keep just saying *someday* for now, and be happy with my phone since I can moblog with it at least, even when the pics are crappy grin

I LOVE my treo - had it almost a year. I surf the web on it all the time - it's super handy for looking up phone numbers, directions, movie times, etc. The camera doesn't take bad pictures either. Congrats! It's a great piece of technology smile

I just got a treo 600 last month, and so far like it quite a lot -- I had a Kyocera 6035 and though it was very useful it was just too darn big for a pocket, the treo is so much better.

I guess it is somewhat odd for me, a person who doesn't really use a cellphone that much, to get this -- but the phone-PDA is about the only way I can ever have the phone number I need when I need it (I could never keep something else synced up).

And the camera, though kinda low-res, is cool to have for grabbing snapshots when you'd never think to lug along a camera ...
