Home again *oof*
Talk about a long damn day! I got up around 5 am ET so I'd have enough time to drop off my car and check my luggage (the flight was at 7:45). The trip to the airport was blissfully short and the snow was light.
Well, I got there, got checked in and sat down to read (with a Chai and cheese danish). The snow started out light but while we sat there, it got heavier and heavier. Eventually they boarded us (a little late, but not by much) and had the plane de-iced. Then we had to wait for the one long runway to be plowed (they weren't plowing both). I fell asleep. I woke up about 45 minutes later and discovered that we hadn't moved at all. They let a few people off (only if you hadn't checked luggage) and then we sat s'more.
Eventually it seemed like things were coming together for us to leave, so they de-iced the plane again and we backed away from the gate... only to discover that the AUP (?) didn't have enough power to start the engine, only enough to run the air circulation system. So we sat s'more but not quite long enough to put us in need of de-icing again (30 mins is apparently the magic number).
Alas, they got things together and we finally took off. About 2.5 hours late. Maybe more. Needless to say, I missed my connection in Atlanta but there was another flight to Colorado at 2:55 so I went to the gate to wait for them to board us (I had about 1.5 hours to hang around).
Amazinglingly, when I got to Denver, my suitcase came off of the plane. Whew!
So now I'm doing laundry (I walked over to Chipotle for dinner around 6 pm MT) and staring glassy-eyed at the monitors.
I emailed Gina from my Treo and told her what was going on, or at least that I was delayed and she said that our manager said he wasn't going to approve anymore vacation time to Boston for me. (But that he was kidding.)
Next up: Figure out when I can go back to Boston. ![]()

Mmmm, Chipotle! Carnitas bowl with rice, black beans and guac. Yum!!
Welcome back!
Go next time I'm there! We'll meet up!
