F'ing doctors and asthma
My asthma has been really bad this week. So much so that I've had to use my Albuterol/Provental inhaler in addition to Advair and my allergy meds. This is rare for me. Even rarer is for it to go on for multiple days.
So guess what? I lost my inhaler. I've never lost an inhaler before. It's always in my purse in case I need it. The kitties had hidden it under the rolling file cabinet under my desk. Bad kitties!
I called the pharmacy who let me know that it had been 1.5 years since I'd gotten this particular inhaler (amusing aside: the Rx says I have 17 refills left) and that they'd need a new Rx called in. So I called the doctor (after giving them time to call the doctor) and told them it was incredibly important that they call this in for me because I've been having breathing trouble all week.
Did they?
Hell no. Bastards.
Meantime I have no clue where the other one went (I would have had to replace it soon because the expiration date on it was 6/2005).
I'll be being very careful about avoiding allergens this weekend because that would be my luck to have a serious asthma attack and not be able to get help (because cats don't dial phones).![]()
Update: Found it. The kitties had hidden it under the rolling file cabinet under my desk. Bad kitties!

If you go to the local emergency room, they may be able to get you a new "temporary" inhaler on the spot.
(Remember when we used to go to the ER on Fridays in Princeton for Cathy to get her shot, and then go out for pizza? :-))
I have asthma too. Be careful this weekend!
