Update: Travis thinks it's either on a plastic piece or a replaceable piece of metal. I'll ask when I visit the Toyota place again in the near future.

Oh man. That's awful! I just got a 2000 Eldorado in mint condition and I'm afraid to leave it parked anywhere for just that reason!
