Mmmm, food
Dinner was wonderful!
Turkey (2 20 pounders so there are plenty of leftovers). A huge amount of cheesy mashed potatoes. A nice sized amount of sweet potatoes (just butter and some OJ added). Two kinds of cranberries (1: cranberries, oranges, little bit of sugar, 2: see recipe (it came out great even though I had to do some improvising). Cardomomed carrot soup (I used less sugar). Salad with assorted dressings. Roasted potatoes. Vegetarian stuffing. Two kinds of in- bird stuffing (one with apples and was sweeter and one that was vegetable heavy). Vegetarian main dish (I don't remember what it was because there was so much else to eat that I never remembered to try it!). Focaccia. Homemade bread. Asparagus. Pumpkin pie. Apple pie. Bread pudding. Water. Wine. Coffee.
We sent leftovers with a bunch of people and I'll be taking some back to my apartment to share with my roomie. ![]()
All of the new dishes went over well (both kinds of cranberries, sweet potatoes made my way, cardomomed carrot soup).
Bringing a new person into the mix isn't always bad news. [The pies were made by Jonah's grandma and the vegetarian main dish, one loaf of bread and the focaccia were made by his mom.]
Happy leftovers day!
