New cat litter = confused Katya
I got a big bag of Yesterday's News litter over the weekend because the regular clumping litter was making too much dust for me. I finally vacuumed up the area around the litter box, laid down the nice mat I got for the litter box to sit on and filled it up with the new litter. That was about 10 hours ago. Everytime Kat would walk past it, she would sniff it and walk away.
She finally decided to try it out. She was obviously confused by it because her paws sunk more than she expected. She did her business, sniffed around, tried to see if the litter was edible and then leaped out, shaking her paws.
I'm not sure if Miss Fussybutt will like this or not. It's definitely weird stuff. But she did figure out that it's Not Food. ![]()

my cats totally hate the stuff...they see and run! lol...back to good 'ol cumping litter lol
What about that expensive crystal litter that I see? It appears to be priced in about the same category as crystal!
Miss Fussypaws hates the crystal stuff (but Brad and I loved it because it absorbed smell really well).
My cat hated the stuff, but she would use it. But she wouldn't use the sand or crystal stuff, either. For her, it was clay or my clean clothes hamper.
"But she did figure out that it's Not Food."
I'd consider that a good thing. I'd imagine that's a case of bad breath you'd rather not have to deal with :-)
My inlaws use that stuff, but I think that it does a horrible job with the smell. What do you think?
Aren't our pets cute? I have a dog that will circle and pace in one spot for 5 minutes before deciding on the exact longitude and latitude to take care of business.
Unsure so far. I may have to ditch it though because how the hell do you find the stuff to scoop out?
Ah well, it was worth trying.
What about one of those electronic boxes that are fully enclosed?
She doesn't like being closed in like that.
Fussy!
