Mmmm!

Christmas dinner was very tasty (menu listed below to the best of my memory and ability to spell). It was at my sis-in-law's sister's house. Yay that she lives very close to me so I was able to escape and get home quickly once it was time to go. We had way more food than 14 people could eat. Especially when 3 of them are under 5. smile

There was food, food and more food. Gaghant Baba (Santa). Presents. Singing. Melting down children (Sara melted down during dinner -- she was a tired kidlet by the time we put the food on the table at 3ish, the other kids melted down later). More clean up, then loading cars and finally, home.

I wore a pretty black dress (similar to this one). It wasn't new but I hadn't worn it before. While we were over there, I noticed that my hands seemed a little grey but thought I was tired and had just gotten something on them. I didn't think twice about it. Until I got home and undressed. That's when I discovered that *I* was grey! Wherever the dress touched is now a weird shade of grey. Bizarre.

Oh well, it'll be gone in a few days and in the meantime is just amusing.

But now? I'm wiped out! That was a little more than 8 hours socializing and helping in the kitchen and I think it's time to curl up with my furball and read my book for a little while.

Dinner (I think this was everything):
- appetizers (2-3pm): 3 kinds of olives, 5 or 6 kinds of cheese, mixed nuts, 3 or 4 kinds of crackers, shirmp, hummus and pita bread.
- dinner proper (3pmish): salad, beef brisket (melted in your mouth) (in a tasty gravy/sauce), turkey (brined and roasted, heavenly), brussel sprouts (really tasty!), spaghetti squash (mmm!), mashed potatoes (also yummy), a different kind of hummus type food (I heard the difference explained but have forgotten), stuffing and gravy for the turkey.
- dessert: molasses cookies, homemade peanut butter fudge, homemade dark chocolate fudge, yule log cake, bakery fancy cookies, fruit (grapes, apples, oranges, bananas), Kadayif.

And yes, I got to bring home some of everything except the appetizers. smile
