SixApart sites attacked
Since approximately 4:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time on May 2nd, Six Apart has been the victim of a sophisticated distributed denial of service attack. This has affected all of Six Apart's sites, causing intermittent and limited availability for TypePad, LiveJournal, TypeKey, sixapart.com, movabletype.org and movabletype.com. Our network operations staff is working around the clock with our Internet access providers to resolve the issue. We appreciate your patience and support, and will provide updates as we have them.Crazy stuff! Everything's better now though.

Update: More info.

Oh my! That's just awful.
I'm glad things are back up... I can't imagine how awful it much feel, seeing their creations battered by something like this. It's such a violation.
Yeah, it couldn't have been fun for them at all.
I'm glad they were able to get things back under control though.
And it sounds like it was more widespread than just the SixApart sites:

It sucks that people have nothing better to do than DDoS attacks.
Retarded stuff is more accurate. DDoS'ers rate just slightly above child pornographers on my scale of slime.
