Spay and neuter your pets
From my roommate who found it from cadhla, whose words I'm also stealing... (the article is _not_ an easy one to read (and will likely involve you looking for tissues))
If you think that the death of even one animal in a shelter is wrong, that it's always inhumanely done, that the people who work there are heartless...this won't change your mind, because your mind is made up. But the fact of the matter is, there is only so much space and so much money, and if you wonder why spaying and neutering is important, when kittens and puppies are so darn cute, you need to read this.Sometimes, there are no happy endings.

Oh, wow. I knew better than to read that. It's so, so sad. I'm going to have trouble sleeping tonight.
Are you trying to KILL me with that story? I was literally at my desk at work crying. I volunteer at www.nearr.com and it is a no kill rescue but as I posted on your roommate' site I think everyone should be made to read that article before giving their dog up to a shelter.
Excellently written...but a definate tear-jerker. There are so many of us that want to take more dogs and cats than we can hope to rescue...but I've been told 4 dogs is my limit.
It's probably just as well that you've been given a limit. Your heart would take them _all_ in!
Oh, that tore me up! It breaks my heart that people are so cruel and thoughtless when it comes to animals. It's hard enough to have to face putting a beloved pet down because it is suffering, I can't imagine how it would tear me up to have to do it everyday for no good reason. I wish I had room to take many of them in, as well.
