A case of mistaken identity
Somehow I got Smoochy's IM ID in my manager's meta contact in Trillian. So today when I mentioned that the forums were out of bandwidth, I wondered why she said she didn't use them often, but thanked me for the info. 
Smoochdog has now been moved back to her very own identity. Whew.
That was just confusing as hell for both of us.

Okay, so it's never happened to me, but I'll hate when it happens on your behalf nonetheless... ;-)
I don't think I've ever had it happen to me before either, but what the heck. At least it was someone I'm friendly with and we got a giggle out of it.
When I am at work IM is always coming in with something - it is a staple in my office (of lazy people and telecommuters) so I zipped off a quick I don't use the forums and left it at that....till she tried it a 2nd time....then I said (a) either I am going crazy - quite possible, or (b) there is something amiss here.
