Subject: Teakettle

When my brother and I were little, we'd gotten a new kitten. Mom decided (or this is how my memory has it) that we could name the kitty anything we wanted to. So he and I (somehow) came up with "Teakettle" as what we wanted to call her.

Mom, forgetting that little kids don't understand sarcasm, said suggested "Souppot". Guess what we picked for the cat's name?

Souppot was the sweetest, gentle-hearted kitty. I'll have to find a scanner and upload some photos of her.

I was 6 years old when my brother was born and I wanted to name him "Sizzelina" after the bacon that was advertised then. Thank god she did not listen to me!
