Year in review
1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Was ready to change jobs in less than a year.
2. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make 'em. I try to work on being a better person and whatnot, but those aren't specific to the new year.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, but I know a number of people who lost loved ones.
5. What countries did you visit?
None.
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
- To be less affected by seasonal depression.
- Less debt.
7. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 17 - first date with James.
October 19 - got fired from a job.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting better at recognizing my limits and not always overloading myself.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Getting fired.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just the usual allergies, asthma, random cold/sickness things.
11. What was the best thing someone bought you?
Dinners when I was out of work. Massages.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
There are a few people, and they all know because I've already told them.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Mine sometimes.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills, rent, that living thing.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Watching my niece get better at expressing herself and learn more words.
16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
None apparently.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Overall happier. This month? Sadder.
b) thinner or fatter? Thinner.
c) richer or poorer? Probably about the same but I feel poorer.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Kept in touch better with those Colorado girls I adore, saved money better, been more social (working on this one).
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Obsessed about a bad job match and just done something about it. Fretted about things that were not in my control.
20. How do you plan to spend Christmas?
I spent it with my local family.
21. Did you fall in love in 2006?
Yup.
22. How many one night stands?
None.
23. What was your favorite TV program?
Brad sent me a new show, Psych, which I was enjoying, but haven't watched all of the episodes I have. I didn't add any other new shows, or even regularly watch the ones that Tivo is saving for me.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Not really.
25. What was the best book you read?
I didn't read a lot of books that stuck with me this year.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Rodrigo y Gabriela. Jonathan Coulton.
27. What did you want and get?
A closer relationship with my roommate (we were kind of strangers until Kat went to live in NY). Met lots of neat people. Got a new job.
28. What did you want and not get?
A better way to manage my stress.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
V for Vendetta.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Got back from CA, slept. Didn't do anything in particular. 42.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
December not kicking my butt as much as it has.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Comfortable. Same as always, really.
33. What kept you sane?
Suzanne, James, NSPy, my friends and my family (chosen and the related ones). Not necessarily in that order.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
None.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
Ugh, there were many.
36. Who do you miss?
My Colorado friends, Brad, some friends who moved to Portland, Dad and Cathy when they weren't visiting as often.
37. Who was the best new person you met?
I met a lot of people this year. ![]()
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006?
I am (mostly) stronger/better at surviving and living than I remember.

I enjoy reading those get to know you surveys... Thanks for sharing yours! I unfortunatly don't have the attention span to sit down and actually complete one.. I ususally just ramble on about one thing for a while then I am done..
