Stories from yesterday's commute
In the morning, I got on the Red Line subway at Alewife (that's normal). I take it 5 stops to Kendall Square/MIT. Before each of the 5 stops, the train (the software, the train doesn't really talk) announced that we were approaching Davis Square. Five times. It's a good thing I don't doze on the T or I would have been really confused and probably have missed my stop.
On the way to pick up my car, the announcing software announced almost every possible stop on the Red Line in quick succession. So bizarre.
At 2 stops before Alewife, a guy got on with a boombox. He announced that he was going to provide a show called "one black man dancing on a moving train". He did a great job (back flips and all kinds of things) and got a decent cheer out of the evening commuters. It certainly put a smile on my face.
On the other hand, the drive from Alewife back to Cambridge made for less smiling, but that's to be expected.

I have had that happen to me too - not the "one black man dancing on a moving train" thing but the wrong/multiple announced stops thing. Gotta love our public transportation!
Huh!
I get that same Davis sq announcement too-all the way to Braintree!
