Yikes! I did this back on Ash Wednesday! I freaked because I take a photo of the day and was out a camera. I was going to try and have it repaired locally but remembered I only had this model since Aug 2006 so I was within my warranty. I sent it back to Cannon and they fixed it free of charge. I'm sure you can get yours fixed just don't know if its going to cost you or not. Good luck. I feel your pain.
