Balticon, day 2
We ended up not keeping the party open until 3 am last night/this morning. It was fine -- we gave our perishables to the Kansas City World Con bid party and closed up shop.
This morning, Clara drove up from her place to hang out with me. We stopped at Panera and then wandered around DSW (where I bought a pair of Tevas) because she likes to go window shopping. It was great to see her again (the last time was in 2003 when I still lived in Colorado).
Then it was time to move stuff out of our room. See, we weren't able to get a hotel room in the main hotel for tonight so we were going to stay at the overflow hotel, but Kansas City (his name is really Adam) said we could crash on his extra bed, so that made life simpler. And better yet, his room is right across from ours.
This afternoon, we had lunch at Chipotle (I'm helping to spread the yummy goodness of Chipotle so that maybe more will open in the Boston area) and then went to Wegman's to pick up a couple of things. Wegman's is a really nice store.
Tem and I hung out for a while in the lobby, where I managed to fall asleep while reading amid the chaos.
Then it was off to dinner! We had Maryland Blue Crabs at Ocean Pride Seafood and they were just as tasty as I remembered them. Plus it's a lot of fun to share something you enjoyed growing up and have fond memories of with your friends.
Next, it was time to go back and change clothes so we could go to the parties. There were more active parties tonight, so that was good. I got a tasty fruity drink. Mmm.
Anyway, I think I'm going to head to the lobby for a while and people watch. Tomorrow at noon I meet up with my friend Stephanie for lunch and visiting. Then it's another trip to the grocery store (to buy party supplies for the Arisia party), moving our stuff to our own room, party setup and then the party!

There's a Wegman's in Baltimore??! DAMN! I LOVE that store!
Yup! And it was sooooo nice.
