World of Warcraft, day 2

I'm at level 6 now! I uploaded 2 more pictures to my WoW Flickr set.

The good and somewhat surprising thing? I wasn't dizzy last night from playing! That's a huge win, and one I wasn't sure would happen.

Anyway, that's good news for thems that want me to play regularly.

Google Chrome - not so good for bloggers

Google's Rebecca Ward, Senior Product Counsel for Google Chrome, now tells Ars Technica that the company tries to reuse these licenses as much as possible, "in order to keep things simple for our users." Ward admits that sometimes "this means that the legal terms for a specific product may include terms that don't apply well to the use of that product" and says that Google is "working quickly to remove language from Section 11 of the current Google Chrome terms of service. This change will apply retroactively to all users who have downloaded Google Chrome."

wow, thanks for that info, Lisa! I wasn't going to use it since I really like Firefox, but it's good to know. Also, I didn't know about the Stephenie Meyer thing.

Jenn and I went to Build-a-Bear today. I'd wanted to go for a while, and since it was my birthday recently, it seemed like a good time. (Jenn made one too, but she'll have to tell you about it.)

I also got her a Tinkerbell outfit.

She's named after a doll I had as a child. I had one of the Sasha dolls. I don't know if mine was named Sasha or not, but that's what I always called her.

Ok, so it's not quite my birthday yet, but we had a party. Jenn's birthday is one day before mine, so we combined forces and had a small birthday party. We had dinner at Yoki and then headed back to Malden to play board games. I played a Ticket to Ride variant and it was a lot of fun. There was a lot of socializing since it was a small group, and that was perfect for me.

AND! I got a wonderful present. I got a new Alpine car stereo - it plays my iPod, radio, CD player and has a USB input. I still need to figure out how to set the time on it, but it plays my music beautifully!

It was a good weekend and I'm feeling quite lucky!

I should really get better about sunscreen (3 photos uploaded - no flash because that bleached everything out). I just forget that it needs to be reapplied.

Canobie Lake was a lot of fun and I definitely want to go there again. When there are fewer groups of camp kids wandering about though.

Aloe is my friend. Now to try to sleep so I don't scratch it because it's really itchy!

Busy days

The middle of August started a very busy bunch of weeks in my life.

This past weekend, Dad and Cathy were in town. It was great to see them again. I'm looking forward to my trip to NJ to visit with them in September.

This coming weekend, Jenn and I are having a small dinner gathering to celebrate our birthdays (one day apart).

The weekend after that is Labor Day weekend, which is near my SIL's birthday. She's asked if I want to do a joint birthday thing over the weekend, so I have to figure out the logistics of that still. James has to work on Saturday and Monday, so he may get a Get Out of Family Stuff Free card.

The weekend after that, we're all going camping! I haven't been camping in forever, but looking over the place, I think it'll be a lot of fun.

Then it's my weekend in NJ. James and I are heading down on Thursday. We hope to have dinner with Bill and Drew while we're there.

And then! It's opening weekend for CTRF!

Thankfully, October is looking rather open on the weekends (so far).

There's a second picture that shows the braid better.

Vera cut 2" off of my hair (at my request). I didn't realize how much bouncier my hair would get - 2" doesn't seem like much. But a bunch of people have noticed that I've gotten my hair cut, so there ya go.

Vacation update

Yesterday we wandered around Faneuil Hall and went to the Farmers Market at Government Center. We had tasty dinner afterwards (very tasty mini-meatfloafs) and watched some Torchwood.

Today we went back into town go to on a Super Duck Tour (which isn't the one that goes on the Charles River so we couldn't wave to my co-workers). It was a lot of fun. We had lunch at Legal Sea Foods and then picked up my car from the shop*. Tonight was grilled chicken and veggies. Also tasty!

Tomorrow, I help Erica with the movers at her old place.

I'm not sure what we have on tap for the rest of the week yet.

*Car. *sigh* I took it in for its 30k checkup (at 34,700 miles) and it needed new tires (not shocking) plus new front and rear brakes and rotors.

Vacation!

Mamma Mia! Well, I didn't know the story except that it was a musical based on some of Abba's songs. I'm not a huge Abba fan (ask Brad), but I like a good musical and I loved the cast, so that's what I wanted to see. That was a great idea. It was a fun movie. It looked like the cast was having a great time (overall). And now I have Abba songs stuck in my head.

It was a perfect way to end a week of stress and start a week of vacation. (We're staying in town and doing Boston-local touristy things.)
